HIMALAYAN PINK SALT

Himalayan salt is the purest form of salt in the world and is harvested by hand from Khewra Salt Mine in the Himalayan Mountains of Pakistan. Its color ranges from off-white to deep pink. Rich in minerals – it contains the 84 natural minerals and elements found in the human body – Himalayan salt is used in spa treatments, as well as the kitchen.

PURE VACUUM SALT

Vacuum Salts / Chemicals. These salts are obtained from a brine (salt water), chemically purified and by a process of controlled thermal compression and vacuum evaporation, solidify and crystallize into a spherical shape with a minimum content of sodium chloride (NaCl) of 99.7% purity.

FINE SALT

Common table salt is mined salt that has been iodized (to prevent thyroid disease) and treated with anti-clumping additives. Sea salt and kosher salt are generally not treated with additives. Table salt is commonly sold finely ground; sea salt is sold in both coarse and fine grains, and kosher salt is coarse.

COARSE SALT

Coarse salt refers to sea salt or kosher salt, salt that has a much larger grain to it than common table salt – hence the name “coarse” salt. The reason that coarse salt is so popular is not that it is saltier or more flavorful than regular salt, but because it has a more dramatic impact when it comes to flavoring. Each of those little bits of salt is fairly large, so you notice it immediately on your tongue when you taste something.

What is Salt

Table salt or common salt is a mineral composed primarily of sodium chloride (NaCl), a chemical compound belonging to the larger class of salts; salt in its natural form as a crystalline mineral is known as rock salt or halite. Salt is present in vast quantities in seawater, where it is the main mineral constituent. The open ocean has about 35 grams (1.2 oz) of solids per litre, a salinity of 3.5%. Salt is essential for life in general, and saltiness is one of the basic human tastes. The tissues of animals contain larger quantities of salt than do plant tissues. Salt is one of the oldest and most ubiquitous food seasonings, and salting is an important method of food preservation.
